Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Bennett Place With Lake Quantabakook by Rackstraw Downes was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2010. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 21,250.00 (€ 15,623.85) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Rackstraw Downes have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Approach To The Holland Tunnel With 75 Varick in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 87,500.00 (€ 82,718.85).

Die Arbeit The Bennett Place With Lake Quantabakook von Rackstraw Downes kam im September 2010 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 21.250,00 (€ 15.623,85) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
