Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of USD 46,875.00 (€ 35,433.52) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Rackstraw Downes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Approach To The Holland Tunnel With 75 Varick, which sold at auction in November 2016 for USD 87,500.00 (€ 82,718.85).
