Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Pirámide De Sangre by Pedro Coronel was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 180,000.00 – 220,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 187,500.00 (€ 165,592.16) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pedro Coronel - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Año 1 luna, which sold at auction in March this year for USD 693,000.00 (€ 637,417.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Pirámide De Sangre von Pedro Coronel kam im November 2018 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 180.000,00 – 220.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 187.500,00 (€ 165.592,16) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Pedro Coronel mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Año 1 luna beobachtet, die im März diesen Jahres für USD 693.000,00 (€ 637.417,22) versteigert wurde.
