This artwork by Pedro Coronel achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March last year. In the Latin American Art auction, the work Génesis sold for USD 239,400.00 (€ 215,811.77) - well above the upper estimate of USD 120,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pedro Coronel - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Año 1 luna, which sold at auction in March this year for USD 693,000.00 (€ 637,417.22).
