Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2011 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Featuring Property from an Important Private European Collection Afternoon Session, which included the work Esconde-Esconde by Os Gêmeos. The »bidding war« ended at USD 80,500.00 (€ 55,996.10), 15% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Os Gêmeos - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Amigo, which sold at auction in November 2015 for USD 162,500.00 (€ 153,853.44).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2011 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Featuring Property from an Important Private European Collection Afternoon Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Esconde-Esconde von Os Gêmeos zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 80.500,00 (€ 55.996,10) und damit 15% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Os Gêmeos mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Amigo beobachtet, die im November 2015 für USD 162.500,00 (€ 153.853,44) versteigert wurde.
