This artwork by Nancy Graves achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in October last year. In the Editions & Works on Paper auction, the work Stuck, the Flies Buzzed (P. 73) sold for USD 11,340.00 (€ 11,415.34) - well above the upper estimate of USD 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Nancy Graves have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Not Identical With in December 2021 with an auction result of USD 126,000.00 (€ 111,327.09).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 89 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Nancy Graves erzielte im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Editions & Works on Paper wurde die Arbeit Stuck, the Flies Buzzed (P. 73) für USD 11.340,00 (€ 11.415,34) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Nancy Graves auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Not Identical With im Dezember 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 126.000,00 (€ 111.327,09).
