Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 75 x 75; Six Frogs, from the Simca Series by Nancy Graves was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in June last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,657.50 (€ 1,583.25) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nancy Graves achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Not Identical With in December 2021 with an auction result of USD 126,000.00 (€ 111,327.09).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit 75 x 75; Six Frogs, from the Simca Series von Nancy Graves kam im Juni letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.657,50 (€ 1.583,25) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nancy Graves erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Not Identical With im Dezember 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 126.000,00 (€ 111.327,09).
