This artwork by Michael West achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in July 2019. In the First Open | Online auction, the work Shadows of "Forgotten Ancestors" sold for USD 81,250.00 (€ 73,000.90) - well above the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Michael West - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 7 and 8, which sold at auction in May last year for USD 176,400.00 (€ 164,383.56).
