Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Bonhams in New York held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art, which included the work August by Michael West. The price achieved of USD 53,295.00 (€ 49,664.52) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Michael West - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 7 and 8, which sold at auction in May last year for USD 176,400.00 (€ 164,383.56).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit August von Michael West zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 53.295,00 (€ 49.664,52) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Michael West mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 7 and 8 beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für USD 176.400,00 (€ 164.383,56) versteigert wurde.
