Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by McArthur Binion could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in October 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Curated auction, the work Self Portrait: 12 changed hands for USD 17,640.00 (€ 15,145.53) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by McArthur Binion achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work DNA Study: III in May last year with an auction result of USD 428,400.00 (€ 399,217.22).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von McArthur Binion konnte im Oktober 2020 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Curated wechselte die Arbeit Self Portrait: 12 für USD 17.640,00 (€ 15.145,53) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von McArthur Binion erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit DNA Study: III im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 428.400,00 (€ 399.217,22).
