In July last year Christies in London held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale, London, which included the work Ink: Work: VII by McArthur Binion. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 100,800.00 (€ 120,373.10), 55% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by McArthur Binion - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work DNA Study: III, which sold at auction in May last year for USD 428,400.00 (€ 399,217.22).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 55 % übertroffen
Im Juli letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale, London durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ink: Work: VII von McArthur Binion zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 100.800,00 (€ 120.373,10) und damit 55% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von McArthur Binion mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit DNA Study: III beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für USD 428.400,00 (€ 399.217,22) versteigert wurde.
