Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Math Bass achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2016. In the Contemporary Curated auction, the work Newz! sold for USD 62,500.00 (€ 54,872.70) - well above the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Math Bass; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Newz! sold at auction in November 2015 with the realized price of USD 81,250.00 (€ 76,926.72).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Math Bass erzielte im März 2016 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Curated wurde die Arbeit Newz! für USD 62.500,00 (€ 54.872,70) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 30.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Math Bass; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Newz! im November 2015 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 81.250,00 (€ 76.926,72).
