Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Brick on Brick by Martin Wong was sold in the Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Christies in New York in November this year. The price achieved of USD 56,700.00 (€ 51,980.20) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Martin Wong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Quong Yuen Shing & Co. in May last year with an auction result of USD 1,260,375.00 (€ 1,174,517.75).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Brick on Brick von Martin Wong wurde im November diesen Jahres in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 56.700,00 (€ 51.980,20) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Martin Wong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Quong Yuen Shing & Co. im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.260.375,00 (€ 1.174.517,75).
