Auction result well in line with expectations
The work St. Joseph's by Martin Wong was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session auction at Phillips in New York in May this year. It changed hands for a price of USD 190,500.00 (€ 178,806.08) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. Admittedly, works by Martin Wong have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Quong Yuen Shing & Co. in May last year with an auction result of USD 1,260,375.00 (€ 1,174,517.75).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit St. Joseph's von Martin Wong wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 190.500,00 (€ 178.806,08) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 150.000,00 – 200.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Martin Wong auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Quong Yuen Shing & Co. im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.260.375,00 (€ 1.174.517,75).
