Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Mark Barrow could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in March 2017 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Curated featuring works from “In Its Own Light: Property from the Collection of Ed Cohen and Victoria Shaw” auction, the work Swipe 1 changed hands for USD 1,750.00 (€ 1,635.82) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mark Barrow - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work BGR, which sold at auction in April 2016 for GBP 4,750.00 (€ 6,071.91).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mark Barrow konnte im März 2017 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Curated featuring works from “In Its Own Light: Property from the Collection of Ed Cohen and Victoria Shaw” wechselte die Arbeit Swipe 1 für USD 1.750,00 (€ 1.635,82) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Mark Barrow mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit BGR beobachtet, die im April 2016 für GBP 4.750,00 (€ 6.071,91) versteigert wurde.
