Auction result well in line with expectations
In March this year Christies in New York held the auction First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online, which included the work Patchwork by Mark Barrow. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,890.00 (€ 2,150.24) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mark Barrow - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work BGR, which sold at auction in April 2016 for GBP 4,750.00 (€ 6,071.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Patchwork von Mark Barrow zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.890,00 (€ 2.150,24) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Mark Barrow mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit BGR beobachtet, die im April 2016 für GBP 4.750,00 (€ 6.071,91) versteigert wurde.
