This artwork by Mariko Mori achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in June 2013. In the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Auction auction, the work Wave UFO (Model) sold for GBP 40,000.00 (€ 46,687.16) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mariko Mori - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cyclic II, which sold at auction in March 2018 for USD 156,250.00 (€ 126,826.30).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 100 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mariko Mori erzielte im Juni 2013 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Auction wurde die Arbeit Wave UFO (Model) für GBP 40.000,00 (€ 46.687,16) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Mariko Mori mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cyclic II beobachtet, die im März 2018 für USD 156.250,00 (€ 126.826,30) versteigert wurde.
