It achieved a price of USD 40,000.00 (€ 32,467.53), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 60%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mariko Mori - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cyclic II, which sold at auction in March 2018 for USD 156,250.00 (€ 126,826.30).

Die Arbeit Empty Dream von Mariko Mori wurde im März 2018 in der Auktion TO LIVE WITH ART: Property from the Jerome & Ellen Stern Collection bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 40.000,00 (€ 32.467,53) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 60%. Für andere Arbeiten von Mariko Mori mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cyclic II beobachtet, die im März 2018 für USD 156.250,00 (€ 126.826,30) versteigert wurde.
