Auction result misses estimated price range
In May last year a collector was able to acquire the work Knot II by Lynda Benglis for USD 48,000.00 (€ 44,730.22). This price was achieved in the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lynda Benglis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Moretti in May last year with an auction result of USD 1,071,000.00 (€ 998,043.05).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Knot II von Lynda Benglis für USD 48.000,00 (€ 44.730,22) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lynda Benglis erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Moretti im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.071.000,00 (€ 998.043,05).
