Artwork auctioned at six times the upper estimate price
The work Untitled, from the Volcano Series, 1993 by Lynda Benglis was worth USD 327,975.00 (€ 335,249.92) to a buyer in September last year. This price was achieved in the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made In California at Bonhams in Los Angeles and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 50,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lynda Benglis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Moretti, which sold at auction in May last year for USD 1,071,000.00 (€ 998,043.05).

Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made In California bei Bonhams in Los Angeles erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von USD 50.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Lynda Benglis mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Moretti beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für USD 1.071.000,00 (€ 998.043,05) versteigert wurde.
