Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2011 a collector was able to acquire the work Two Iris On Black by Lowell Nesbitt for USD 4,063.00 (€ 3,021.04). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Lowell Nesbitt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work White Electric Daffodil in September 2008 with an auction result of USD 18,750.00 (€ 13,315.82).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September 2011 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Two Iris On Black von Lowell Nesbitt für USD 4.063,00 (€ 3.021,04) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Art bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lowell Nesbitt auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit White Electric Daffodil im September 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 18.750,00 (€ 13.315,82).
