Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Male Nude by Lowell Nesbitt was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in June last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 500.00 – 700.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 446.25 (€ 426.26). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lowell Nesbitt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work White Electric Daffodil in September 2008 with an auction result of USD 18,750.00 (€ 13,315.82).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Male Nude von Lowell Nesbitt im Juni letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 446,25 (€ 426,26) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lowell Nesbitt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit White Electric Daffodil im September 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 18.750,00 (€ 13.315,82).
