the complete set of 15 signed and numbered wood engravings and etchings, (F. and O'S. 537) in colors, title page, and text, on various wove papers, copy 14 of 175 (the final edition was 525), the full sheets or with full margins, and original embossed window folders, in excellent condition, original marbleized paper and buckram-covered portfolio and box. 375 x 293 mm.

Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Leonard Baskin could be acquired at Christies in New York in February 2003 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Prints and Multiples auction, the work Laus Pictorum, Portraits of Nineteenth Century Artists, Northampton, Massachusetts, The Gehenna Press, 1969 (Fern and O'Sullivan 416, 496, 537-48, 736) changed hands for USD 836.50 (€ 776.05) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Leonard Baskin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Isaacangel in June 2000 with an auction result of USD 18,800.00 (€ 19,696.18).
