In September 2011 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work 'Dead Crow' by Leonard Baskin. The auction ended at the price of USD 10,000.00 (€ 7,435.50), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Leonard Baskin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Isaacangel, which sold at auction in June 2000 for USD 18,800.00 (€ 19,696.18).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im September 2011 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit 'Dead Crow' von Leonard Baskin zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 7.435,50) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Leonard Baskin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Isaacangel beobachtet, die im Juni 2000 für USD 18.800,00 (€ 19.696,18) versteigert wurde.
