Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Kneeling Woman by Leonard Baskin. The price achieved of USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,365.73) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Leonard Baskin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Isaacangel, which sold at auction in June 2000 for USD 18,800.00 (€ 19,696.18).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2017 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Kneeling Woman von Leonard Baskin zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 6.250,00 (€ 5.365,73) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Leonard Baskin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Isaacangel beobachtet, die im Juni 2000 für USD 18.800,00 (€ 19.696,18) versteigert wurde.
