This artwork by Leonard Baskin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in September 2017. In the The Collection of Edward Albee auction, the work Dead Man sold for USD 4,000.00 (€ 3,386.10) - well above the upper estimate of USD 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Leonard Baskin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Isaacangel in June 2000 with an auction result of USD 18,800.00 (€ 19,696.18).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Leonard Baskin erzielte im September 2017 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Collection of Edward Albee wurde die Arbeit Dead Man für USD 4.000,00 (€ 3.386,10) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 2.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Leonard Baskin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Isaacangel im Juni 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 18.800,00 (€ 19.696,18).
