Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Laus Pictorum by Leonard Baskin was auctioned at Bonhams in May this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of USD 637.50 (€ 598.37) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Leonard Baskin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Isaacangel in June 2000 with an auction result of USD 18,800.00 (€ 19,696.18).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Laus Pictorum von Leonard Baskin kam im Mai diesen Jahres bei Bonhams zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 637,50 (€ 598,37) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Leonard Baskin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Isaacangel im Juni 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 18.800,00 (€ 19.696,18).
