Auction result well in line with expectations
In May this year Phillips in New York held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session, which included this untitled work by León Ferrari. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 31,750.00 (€ 29,801.01) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by León Ferrari have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Grafismos, Flores Y Mariposas in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 225,000.00 (€ 201,811.82).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von León Ferrari zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 31.750,00 (€ 29.801,01) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von León Ferrari auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Grafismos, Flores Y Mariposas im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 225.000,00 (€ 201.811,82).
