Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Leda Catunda achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March last year. In the Contemporary Discoveries auction, the work Cerebro sold for USD 37,800.00 (€ 34,075.54) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Leda Catunda; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Emelec sold at auction in November 2015 with the realized price of USD 40,000.00 (€ 37,871.62).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Leda Catunda erzielte im März letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Discoveries wurde die Arbeit Cerebro für USD 37.800,00 (€ 34.075,54) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Leda Catunda; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Emelec im November 2015 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 40.000,00 (€ 37.871,62).
