Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Burning Flowers by Koh Sang Woo was sold in the Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) auction at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 35,000.00 – 55,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 37,500.00 (€ 3,587.49) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Koh Sang Woo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pierrot Lion in September 2020 with an auction result of GBP 21,250.00 (€ 23,431.58).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Burning Flowers von Koh Sang Woo wurde im November 2011 in der Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 35.000,00 – 55.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 37.500,00 (€ 3.587,49) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Koh Sang Woo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Pierrot Lion im September 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 21.250,00 (€ 23.431,58).
