Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2010 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale), which included the work Portrait of a Couple; & Heaven, Earth and Sisters by Koh Sang Woo. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 60,000.00 – 100,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 68,750.00 (€ 6,792.73) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Koh Sang Woo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Pierrot Lion, which sold at auction in September 2020 for GBP 21,250.00 (€ 23,431.58).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2010 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of a Couple; & Heaven, Earth and Sisters von Koh Sang Woo zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 60.000,00 – 100.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 68.750,00 (€ 6.792,73) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Koh Sang Woo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Pierrot Lion beobachtet, die im September 2020 für GBP 21.250,00 (€ 23.431,58) versteigert wurde.
