In September 2007 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Part I and Part II, which included the work Reality And Image by Kim Kang-Yong. The »bidding war« ended at USD 11,400.00 (€ 8,017.44), 63% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Kim Kang-Yong have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work REALITY + IMAGE 1406-1461 in May 2017 with an auction result of HKD 475,000.00 (€ 54,238.61).

Im September 2007 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Part I and Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit Reality And Image von Kim Kang-Yong zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 11.400,00 (€ 8.017,44) und damit 63% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kim Kang-Yong auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit REALITY + IMAGE 1406-1461 im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 475.000,00 (€ 54.238,61).
