The price achieved of USD 13,800.00 (€ 10,877.28) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Kim Kang-Yong have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work REALITY + IMAGE 1406-1461 in May 2017 with an auction result of HKD 475,000.00 (€ 54,238.61).

Die Arbeit Reality & Image 402-444, 2004 von Kim Kang-Yong kam im September 2006 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 13.800,00 (€ 10.877,28) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 12.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kim Kang-Yong auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit REALITY + IMAGE 1406-1461 im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 475.000,00 (€ 54.238,61).
