Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Stage Five by Kenneth Snelson was sold in the Contemporary Art auction at Sothebys in New York in September 2009. The price achieved of USD 16,250.00 (€ 11,107.31) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kenneth Snelson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Maquette, which sold at auction in January 2013 for USD 52,500.00 (€ 38,648.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Stage Five von Kenneth Snelson wurde im September 2009 in der Auktion Contemporary Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 16.250,00 (€ 11.107,31) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Kenneth Snelson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Maquette beobachtet, die im Januar 2013 für USD 52.500,00 (€ 38.648,41) versteigert wurde.
