Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Kai Althoff could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in November 2007 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art Day auction, the work Joey Engelhardt At P.I.P. changed hands for USD 58,000.00 (€ 39,488.02) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kai Althoff achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Antonius Eremita in October 2018 with an auction result of GBP 682,000.00 (€ 769,085.60).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Kai Althoff konnte im November 2007 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Day wechselte die Arbeit Joey Engelhardt At P.I.P. für USD 58.000,00 (€ 39.488,02) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kai Althoff erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Antonius Eremita im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 682.000,00 (€ 769.085,60).
