Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Comienzo Con Magenta by José Guerrero was auctioned at Sothebys in London in June 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 50,000.00 – 70,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 51,650.00 (€ 63,955.00) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by José Guerrero - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Comienzo, 1982, which sold at auction in October 2007 for EUR 228,250.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Comienzo Con Magenta von José Guerrero kam im Juni 2012 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 51.650,00 (€ 63.955,00) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von José Guerrero mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Comienzo, 1982 beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für EUR 228.250,00 versteigert wurde.
