Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Jonathan Borofsky achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in April 2021. In the Editions & Works on Paper auction, the work Man With a Briefcase (A) (G. 1482) sold for USD 15,120.00 (€ 12,568.58) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jonathan Borofsky - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Man with Briefcase A; B; C; at No. 3274714; and at No. 5876246 (G. 1482-4; 1461), which sold at auction in November 2006 for USD 60,000.00 (€ 45,245.46).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jonathan Borofsky erzielte im April 2021 bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Editions & Works on Paper wurde die Arbeit Man With a Briefcase (A) (G. 1482) für USD 15.120,00 (€ 12.568,58) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Jonathan Borofsky mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Man with Briefcase A; B; C; at No. 3274714; and at No. 5876246 (G. 1482-4; 1461) beobachtet, die im November 2006 für USD 60.000,00 (€ 45.245,46) versteigert wurde.
