Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John Newman could be acquired at Christies in New York in September 2005 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Prints and Multiples auction, the work Sotto Voce; and Color Double changed hands for USD 360.00 (€ 298.56) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Newman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tolled Belle in September 2015 with an auction result of USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,958.97).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Newman konnte im September 2005 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Prints and Multiples wechselte die Arbeit Sotto Voce; and Color Double für USD 360,00 (€ 298,56) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.200,00 – 1.800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Newman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tolled Belle im September 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.958,97).
