This artwork by John Newman achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September 2014. In the First Open/NYC auction, the work Character Armor sold for USD 11,250.00 (€ 8,908.77) - well above the upper estimate of USD 6,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by John Newman; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Tolled Belle sold at auction in September 2015 with the realized price of USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,958.97).

Dieses Kunstwerk von John Newman erzielte im September 2014 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion First Open/NYC wurde die Arbeit Character Armor für USD 11.250,00 (€ 8.908,77) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 6.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von John Newman; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Tolled Belle im September 2015 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.958,97).
