Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Bubbles Burst by John Newman was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 8,750.00 (€ 8,146.36). Other works by John Newman have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in September 2015 by the work Tolled Belle at USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,958.97).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Bubbles Burst von John Newman im März 2015 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 8.750,00 (€ 8.146,36) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von John Newman wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im September 2015 die Arbeit Tolled Belle mit USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.958,97).
