Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John Davies could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in May 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art Day Auction auction, the work Head Of A Man changed hands for USD 1,750.00 (€ 1,569.65) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Admittedly, works by John Davies have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Brown Painted Head in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,940.70).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Davies konnte im Mai 2019 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction wechselte die Arbeit Head Of A Man für USD 1.750,00 (€ 1.569,65) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Davies auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Brown Painted Head im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.940,70).
