Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John Davies could be acquired at Christies in London in November 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Outside In: The Dr. Jeffrey Sherwin Collection auction, the work Head of William Jeffrey with Device changed hands for GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,201.71) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Davies - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Brown Painted Head, which sold at auction in July 2008 for GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,940.70).
