A top price for John Davies - as previously expected
The work Brown Painted Head by John Davies was sold in the 20th Century British Art auction at Sothebys in London in July 2008. The price achieved of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,940.70) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Brown Painted Head is the most expensive artwork by John Davies that we have observed at auctions so far.
