It achieved a price of USD 2,160.00 (€ 1,832.06), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 44%. Admittedly, works by Joan Nelson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled #196 in November 2004 with an auction result of USD 19,120.00 (€ 14,420.39).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 44 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Untitled (After Edward Hicks) von Joan Nelson kam im November 2005 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 2.160,00 (€ 1.832,06) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 44%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joan Nelson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled #196 im November 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 19.120,00 (€ 14.420,39).
