Sold at the upper estimate price
The work Untitled (#379) by Joan Nelson was auctioned at Christies in New York in January 2011. The auction ended at the price of USD 5,000.00 (€ 3,645.64), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Joan Nelson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled #196, which sold at auction in November 2004 for USD 19,120.00 (€ 14,420.39).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Untitled (#379) von Joan Nelson kam im Januar 2011 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 5.000,00 (€ 3.645,64) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Joan Nelson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled #196 beobachtet, die im November 2004 für USD 19.120,00 (€ 14.420,39) versteigert wurde.
