Auction result well in line with expectations
The work No. 188 by Joan Nelson was sold in the Christie's Interiors auction at Christies in New York in January 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,250.00 (€ 2,369.67) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Joan Nelson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled #196 in November 2004 with an auction result of USD 19,120.00 (€ 14,420.39).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit No. 188 von Joan Nelson wurde im Januar 2011 in der Auktion Christie's Interiors bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.250,00 (€ 2.369,67) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joan Nelson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled #196 im November 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 19.120,00 (€ 14.420,39).
