Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (#69), 1986 by Joan Nelson was sold in the Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art auction at Bonhams in April this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,020.00 (€ 923.91) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joan Nelson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled #196 in November 2004 with an auction result of USD 19,120.00 (€ 14,420.39).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (#69), 1986 von Joan Nelson wurde im April diesen Jahres in der Auktion Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art bei Bonhams versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.020,00 (€ 923,91) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joan Nelson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled #196 im November 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 19.120,00 (€ 14.420,39).
