Despite a disappointment, a good price for Joan Jonas
In November 2015 a collector was able to acquire the work Iceland Photo For "Volcano Saga" #3 by Joan Jonas for USD 8,750.00 (€ 8,284.42). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Despite this disappointing result, Iceland Photo For "Volcano Saga" #3 is the most expensive artwork by Joan Jonas that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für Joan Jonas
Im November 2015 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Iceland Photo For "Volcano Saga" #3 von Joan Jonas für USD 8.750,00 (€ 8.284,42) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Trotz dieses enttäuschenden Ergebnisses ist Iceland Photo For "Volcano Saga" #3 das teuerste Kunstwerk von Joan Jonas, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
