Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Joan Jonas could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in July 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art Online: NYC auction, the work Iceland Photo For "Volcano Saga" #3, 1985-2003 changed hands for USD 1,500.00 (€ 1,281.39) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Joan Jonas have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Iceland Photo For "Volcano Saga" #3 in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 8,750.00 (€ 8,284.42).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Joan Jonas konnte im Juli 2018 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Online: NYC wechselte die Arbeit Iceland Photo For "Volcano Saga" #3, 1985-2003 für USD 1.500,00 (€ 1.281,39) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joan Jonas auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Iceland Photo For "Volcano Saga" #3 im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 8.284,42).
