Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%

This artwork by Joan Jonas achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in June 2013. In the Contemporary Art auction, the work Organic Honey'S Vertical Roll sold for USD 3,750.00 (€ 2,882.40) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Joan Jonas - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Iceland Photo For "Volcano Saga" #3, which sold at auction in November 2015 for USD 8,750.00 (€ 8,284.42).

Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen

Dieses Kunstwerk von Joan Jonas erzielte im Juni 2013 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Organic Honey'S Vertical Roll für USD 3.750,00 (€ 2.882,40) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Joan Jonas mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Iceland Photo For "Volcano Saga" #3 beobachtet, die im November 2015 für USD 8.750,00 (€ 8.284,42) versteigert wurde.
